Patient Satisfaction for Physicians

While patient satisfaction has always been important to physicians, it has become even more important with the introduction of CMS’ Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers & Systems (HCAHPS). CMS has proposed a plan to expand the HCAHPS program, and private payers are already beginning to incorporate HCAHPS into their Pay for Performance programs. Still, it is important to note that patient satisfaction is not just about reimbursement. Happy patients make loyal patients.
