"Interesting presentation, and one that brings up some questions.

Is there a number of years and/or PPD number that correlates well with the risk of developing lung cancer in smokers of either gender?

Is there a time frame post quitting after which the risk starts to decline? That is to say, if someone has not smoked for 10 or 15 years, and does not have cancer, is there a lesser chance that they will go on to develop lung cancer than those who are only 5 or more years post stopping?

Thanks for any information."
